Gear up for TELFest 2018! Keynote address and full program

TELFest is a few days away and we are very excited to introduce our keynote speaker, Dr Alexandra Webb.

Alex is a senior lecturer from the ANU College of Health and Medicine and leads the Technology-Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT) working group at the ANU Medical School. In 2016, she won the Australian Award for University Teaching: Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning. Alex devotes much of her time teaching anatomy and advocating for the use of technology to improve student learning experience and we are more than delighted to have her open TELFest with her keynote address.

Keynote Address: An Anatomist’s Accidental Adventure: From Cadavers to Computers

Presented by Dr. Alexandra Webb, ANU Medical School

Integrating TEL into your educational practice can be daunting and challenging. However, the judicious use of educational technologies can augment your skills as an educator and enhance the student experience of learning. This session will encourage consideration of the BIG question: ‘to use, or not to use technology’ in your educational environment. We will examine how the science of learning can provide insights into the effective application of TEL. Finally, we’ll reflect on how listening to the voice of your students can guide you away from potential pitfalls.
